Despite the quarantine outside the window, the companies are not standing still, but delight us with even more new announcements.

Geforce RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 video cards featured

Today a new era in gaming video cards has begun since Nvidia has introduced the Ampere line adapters. From the name, you could have already guessed what the company has done this time.

Nvidia currently dominates the discrete 3D card market, which has been the case for a long time. Nvidia adapters have delighted several generations in a row with the constant impressive performance increases. However, upon Turing cards' release, it seemed to many that something went wrong in this algorithm. The cards became much more expensive than their predecessors, and as a result, the price-performance ratio remained practically unchanged. At the time of the new products' release, it was more profitable to buy the already fairly cheaper GTX 1000 models than the new RTX 2000.

Now, Nvidia has shown that at that time, the situation was not really like that - it was rather a transitional generation with many new technologies that "took over" the lion's share of the improvements and pulled the rise in prices. The RTX 3000 line has brought back the old "algorithm": a much better product for the same prices. Well, not really, but first things first:)

Three video cards have been presented: the GeForce RTX 3070, which will be on sale in October, the RTX 3080 - available on September 17, and the RTX 3090, released on September 24.

Skoda presented the serial version of the Enyaq IV Electric Crossover

Czech automaker Skoda has presented an electric SUV called the Enyaq iV. The car is built on the MEB platform, used in many new electric vehicles of the Volkswagen Group.

In appearance, the Enyaq iV has a relationship with other crossovers of the brand. In particular, there are similarities with the Kodiaq model. A decorative backlit grille looks interesting, visually creating a common light line with the daytime running lights.

Inside, attention is drawn to the huge 13-inch display of the multimedia system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. By contrast, there is a compact 5.3-inch digital panel and a head-up display with augmented reality in front of the driver.

Skoda Enyaq iV is offered in several configurations with the motors from 109 to 225 kW, torque from 220 to 460 Nm, front or all-wheel drive. The range of the different versions varies from 340 to 510 km, according to the WLTP cycle. Various options for charging an electric car are supported, up to the high-speed 125 kW DC charging.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 flexible smartphone introduced

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 was shown to us at the beginning of the month, along with the Galaxy Note20 line and other novelties of the Korean giant. However, that announcement was preliminary, and the full-fledged one has just happened.

As long as we have known everything about the device for a long time, we simply need to summarize. So, Galaxy Z Fold2 can be safely called an improved or "correct" Galaxy Fold. There is nothing radically new here, but a lot has been improved.

The heart of the novelty is the SoC Snapdragon 865+. The internal screen has grown to 7.6 inches. Meanwhile, its area has grown by 13.5%, due to a different aspect ratio and, probably, due to the absence of a huge cutout. The resolution of this display is 2208 x 1768 pixels; the frame rate is 120 Hz.

The external screen has grown much more noticeably: up to 6.2 inches at a 2260 x 816 pixel-resolution. Therefore, it is a full-fledged modern display that can be easily used without any restrictions. Both panels here are AMOLED.

Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 732G chipset

Qualcomm has unveiled the new Snapdragon 732G chipset, which is a slightly improved version of the Snapdragon 730G introduced last year.

One of the main innovations was an increase in the eight-core processor operating frequency up to 2.3 GHz (SD730G - 2.2 GHz). The video accelerator has not changed: the Adreno 618 GPU is still used, but it should provide 15% better performance than the previous chipset.

The Snapdragon 732G is built using an 8-nanometer process technology. It includes a Snapdragon X15 LTE modem, supports dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, Wi-Fi 6 ready. It also claims support for Snapdragon Elite Gaming technology, which "allows gamers to experience ultra-realistic gameplay with over a billion shades of color."

The new chipset should be the first to receive a POCO smartphone. Most likely, it will be a mid-budget device with an emphasis on gaming capabilities.

Autopilot Tesla learnt to follow speed limit signs with the use of built-in cameras

Tesla has prepared another update for its own electric cars. The 2020.36 update will allow the autonomous driving system to use the car's cameras to determine the speed limit signs. Thus, the autopilot should react much more correctly and faster to the speed mode changes, because previously it relied solely on GPS data.

Another useful innovation - the car will tell you at the intersection that the green light is on and you can drive. This will help avoid disapproving beeps from other drivers if you are suddenly lost in your thoughts and did not immediately respond to the signal. By the way, if there is a car in front of you, the system will beep only if that car has already moved and you are still distracted.

As always, it will take several weeks for the distribution of the update.

LG presents its Wearable Air Cleaner

Recently, a protective mask has become an integral attribute of the inhabitants of almost the entire planet. This is largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the ecological situation, especially in large cities, forces the use of protective equipment as well. Looking at this situation, LG decided to release a personal electronic air purifier - PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier.

The unit is equipped with two fans, operating at three speeds, and a pair of H13 HEPA filters, similar to those used in stationary air purifiers. A special "respiratory sensor" detects your breathing rate and automatically adjusts the speed of the ventilators. LG notes that the device can last about 8 hours on a single charge. A battery with a capacity of 820 mAh is installed inside.

When not in use, the mask should be stored in a case with UV LED lamps that decontaminate it while charging. The device can also connect to your smartphone to alert you to replace recyclable filters. Unfortunately, the company does not specify how much such filters and the air purifier itself will cost. More information on the PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier should be revealed during IFA 2020 in early September.
